WTN: 2006 D'Issan

by Matt Richman » Mon Sep 28, 2009 9:45 pm

2006 Château d'Issan (France, Bordeaux, Margaux)

Fairly soft and easy drinking for such a young Bordeaux. Dark notes with coffee, mushroom, dark berry, some lighter floral notes. Good finish that turns slightly bitter. Some tacky tannins, could use a little time to mature, but is drinking fine now.

I'm always on the fence about D'Issan. I like it well enough when I get to taste it, but just never quite enough to go out & buy some for myself.

I like Issan (and Emmanuel Cruze is a real gentlemen),but got used to old prices, and have held off last few vintages.
