WTN: Domaine Des Quatre Routes Muscadet Sevre & Maine 2007

AC Loire

Fairly dark yellow, for a Muscadet, in the glass.

Honey, pear and apples on the nose.

Quite rich, pear, apple, light to medium bodied, nicely tangy, slightly prickly on the tongue, a light bitter bite, crisp, refreshing, turning rather salty as it warms on the table.

Drying, apple, a mild bitter bite on the very mouthwatering finish.

I do like Muscadet!!

Purchased at $11.95 (Canadian) and good value.

Find your color description a tad strange Bruce? Taste seems great though, which foods did you prepare?

Yeah, I thought the yellow was rather dark as well. We had chicken breasts in a lemon-mustard breading.

Heat damaged? Oxidised?

Hard to imagine that a wine this young could be oxidized, unless either it was made in an oxidative fashion or had a very faulty cork. Heat damage seems the likelier suspect to me.
