- 2007 St. Innocent Pinot Noir Special Selection Shea Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Yamhill County
Had over 2 nights next to the Momtazi SS. Left with the cork out.
This is easier to enjoy. Aromas of citrus peel, spice, earth and a brambly fruitiness. But on the second day the aromas seemed to have shut down or got a little lost. On the palate there is big fruit and acidity. A sour raspberry element. The fruit lingers over the tannins nicely. Nicely stuffed with complexity and concentration. I found this great now but I am looking forward to seeing what the future unpacks. (93 pts.) - 2007 St. Innocent Pinot Noir Special Selection Momtazi Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Yamhill County

Very easy to distinguish from the Shea. I remember barrel tasting this and getting all the earthy dill elements on the nose. Reminiscent of young 7 Springs. The wine has a stem smell too but there is no whole cluster here. There is a burst of grapefruit on the palate followed by raspberry and firm tannins. A complex combination of red fruit and darker earthy elements. The acidity keeps this so refreshing. You want to keep drinking it. The flavors roll out on a jagged line instead of round and blousy like many of the 06s. (91 pts.)
