Yves Grassa makes some of the best-value white wines in France, and the "Classic" is certainly one. I think it is nothing short of miraculous that he is able to make wines of such quality from grapes that are, in other parts of the world, considered mediocre at best. Both Ugni Blanc (aka Trebbiano) and Colombard (known in California as "French Colombard") are treated as the vinous version of Hamburger Helper in Italy and California, respectively. Yet Grassa makes wonderful wines from them, very fairly priced. He makes a very similar, and similarly priced, wine under the name "Domaine De Pouy."
