WTN: Heitlinger Estate Pinot Noir Rose Dry 2009

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Jul 24, 2010 7:24 pm

Baden

Light pink, almost light brown, in the glass.

Fresh berries on the nose.

Medium weight, strawberry, cherry, lightly honeyed, spicy, good acidity, floral, with a bitter bite.

Raspberry, mouthwatering, with a bitter bite on the finish.

This wine was doubly interesting: not just a PN from Germany, but a rose from Germany. I don't ever recall coming across a German rose.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).

Kesseler makes a Spatburgunder Rose. I like it quite a bit, when I can get it.
