Oh, Oh....sparkling Sauv Blanc!

Now I know that there are some fine Sauv Blanc sparklers out there, especially from NZ, but last night I sampled the `06 Eikendal Mon Desir MCC Sparkling from Western Cape, South Africa.
Quite bizarre, a blend of SB and Chardonnay and I suspect made for the export market? Nothing stood out except for the usual SB suspects....grass, gooseberry, herbal. One other taster questioned the chard content.

So forumites, which sparkling SB are you keen on? C`mon, give it a shot.

Never had one nor have I even seen one here.

new to me and no sauv blanc sparklers listed in the M Cooper annual I happen to have to hand. It's a brave grape choice!

I like SB but I have not had very few sparkling SBs however I very much enjoyed a bottle of 100% sparkling SN I had at J C LeRoux in the Cape.

I can't find the wine you mention. Platter shows Mont Desir MCC as a 100% Chardonnay, first one was 2005 vintage but MCC is not listed on their site now

However Eikendal have also for some years made a 50/50 Chardonnay/SauvignonBlanc sparkler (not MCC)
