WTN: Anselmi San Vincenzo 2009

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Oct 17, 2010 10:35 am

Veneto
A blend of Garganega, Chardonnay and Trebbiano.

Golden yellow in the glass.

Pear, spicy on the nose.

Medium bodied, apple, lime, pear, light lemon, lightly honeyed, very clean, good acidity, spicy, with a bitter bite toward the end.

A mouthwatering finish.

I have enjoyed this wine a number of times over the years, and while this particular bottling was lacking a bit of the weight and richness of previous efforts, it was still quite enjoyable.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).

Bruce -

Thanks for the note. Have not had a 2009 Soave yet (and I know that Anselmi's wines technically aren't Soaves, but oh well), but I agree that the Anselmi San Vincenzo is normally a good value.
