2002 Chartogne-Taillet Champagne Brut Millésimé
60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay; disgorged Jan 2010. Remarkably bready, doughy and faintly buttery at first to the point that it's almost like drinking a croissant! With some air the bready flavours calm down and take a step back as bright, precise citrus and white fruited flavours emerge alongside. The mouthfeel's quite lovely, very polished and glossy with the effervescence and bright acidity keeping it very precise and refreshing. Great stuff.
2009 Clos Roche Blanche Touraine Cabernet
Just like the other bottles I've opened, full of fresh fruit, earth and herbal accents in a light and very elegant package.
2009 Clos Roche Blanche Touraine Cuvée Cot
Starts out with a lovely fragrance of bright red and dark fruits tinged with touches of violet and earth, and but it's not quite as enjoyable in the mouth - the fruit's very bright and refreshing, but there's a lot of gritty tannin on the back end that makes it feel quite chalky in texture, almost sandpapery.
