Noggles, an amazing iPhone app

My son loaded this for me at a restaurant two nights ago, and it is truly amazing.

You take a picture of the wine label, the little button spins around as the app "Noggles", and suddenly there is a list of links and text to retailers who handle the wine with prices and tasting notes, tasting notes from the winery, posts from wine boards and more.

It's almost magical.

I'm not Bob, but yes it's a free app. Searches web from picture (or bar code). Not just wine.
That said, i've not used it yet.

it's Noogle noggles, powered by Google goggles. How's that for precious.

It's free but there are reasonably priced upgrades.

I took a picture of Clive, our King Charles Cavalier, and got only a bit of his back and his tail.

The app returned two sites offering "faux fur".

Bob, does this differ significantly from using Goggles in the Google iPhone applet, where you can access it directly by tapping the little camera icon?

You have to realize how demoralizing it is for this OF to fall behind in the early adapter world.

Sounds good to me, Bob! I'll give it a try!

I know the Google applet includes Goggles now, which works similarly - take a photo, and Dr. Google tries to find images that match and links you to its findings. But I haven't tried it for wine notes and don't know for sure whether you can save it with notes. If not, that would give the edge to NOggles for sure!
