Magic Hat Wacko Summer Seasonal: My kind of summer brew. It is made with Apollo hops, and English Ale yeast (as many Northern New England brews are), and colored with beet juice. The resultant color is a very dark rose. It gives you a big malty aroma on the nose, a subdued hop bite in the middle, and a clean slightly sweet finish. Very nice at popular prices.

I assume the beets leave an effect on more than just the color?

Methinks that was where the sweetness came from.
