I recently picked up a 2004 Sterling Reserve Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2005 Noster Inicial Priorat, both deeply discounted. I suppose the Cab. is ready or almost ready, (probably many think it will never be ready ie. pleasurable) but the Priorat may still be a baby. Any help out there?
Cellar Tracker indicates a window of 2008 to 2014 for the Sterling C.S. Reserve. One person who opened a bottle last spring thinks it is at its peak now. I often like California cabs with ten years of age but lack the patience to hold them that long so don't purchase many. I think you could probably open it any time between 2012 and 2014. I have some Larkmead that I am trying to cellar patiently.
