From younger trellised wines in the Heiligenstein. $22(!!) on a recent closeout from Chambers.
This is drinking stunningly well right now. Appears fully mature with a bright gold colour, and an incredible scent combining fresh Riesling fruit and minerality with herbal, spicy, honeyed and developed smoky and burnished elements. There's tremendous depth on the palate, but at the same time it conveys flavour with a remarkable sense of lightness and finesse, with a long, resonant finish. One of the best Rieslings I've had in some time, and I'm glad I have another bottle.
