Thirty Bench VQA Niagara Peninusla 1998 Reserve Blend 15.1% unfiltered I had recently drank a bottle of 1998 Niagara that's fruit had almost decintigrated, even though well kept at a friends place and figured this dead. We are waiting for the tale of a huricane that you are all aware of and I opened this bottle. Lovely nose of cherry and spice. Took about 20 minutes to open up. Lovely wine. Not as good as the second day of my recent 2001 Clerc Milon but showed good fruit and life. No longer can I say a bottle of Ontario wine will not last longer than ten years. I am not however rushing to the vineyard.
