WTN 2000 Bimbadgen Hunter Valley Shiraz

This was the first Australian Shiraz I've ever tried. Brought to dinner by a pair of world travelers, so I'm not sure this is available in the US.

A very dark ruby color. Not a big nose, at first. Nice balance of dark fruit and yet some raspberry, too. Nice acidity, a very well-balanced wine, overall. As it opened in the glass, some of the "meaty" notes I've read in descriptions of Syrah became very apparant.

Overall, a nice, smooth, balanced wine A-. [/b]
