I think a more pressing issue, from a consumer standpoint anyway, is not who ships to us but rather if shipping is even available at all. Figuring out the patchwork of states which either allow direct wine shipments, don't allow it, or allow limited amounts, is enough to drive you to drink. Some of us have drawn the short end of the straw when it comes to online or mail ordering.

I joined the"Free the Grapes!" group a couple of years ago to advocate for the lifting of shipping restrictions across the board. There have been some successes, but it's still an exercise in frustration in many areas (including here in NJ) for those of us who want to go beyond our local shop's inventory.
