decanter question

I saw a mention in CellarTracker of someone using a "menu decanter" on a red wine. What is this gizmo?

Looks to me like "menu" is a brand name.

I would agree that it appears to be a brand. Personally my go-to decanter is a Pyrex 1 Qt. measuring bowl (the bigger one can be used as well) but the point is to have a spout from which to pour the wine back into the original bottle (takes up much less space on the table and allows the guest to view the label, etc. Also takes about 15 seconds to clean, and since you are using this device before hand, appearance is not a concern, and in keeping with Alton Brown's "multi-tasking" philosophy, this is a "no-brainer".
