2012 Littorai Pinot Noir The Pivot Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (4/30/2014)Well this is interesting! While still seeming a little clenched/closed in, there is much to enjoy in the restrained berry (straw & cran) fruit and chalky earth aromas and flavors. The structure is more prominent than in most California Pinot Noir that I have tried, which to me is a positive. I see the potential for significant development here, as the tannins mature, and complexity develops over time. Very good now with outstanding potential.

If you get the chance try their chard, their wines are not typical of many of the CA wines. I mean that in a good way.

Would like to get your thoughts on this wine vs Ceritas pinots. Have seen them compared. Have never had the Littorai.

Nice notes, I like the PNs (mostly, haven't had enough to decide which vineyards are my fave), and agree the Chardonnay wines can be interesting

We had the 2011 Littorai Pinots at the Littorai Wine Dinner last August during the West of West Festival. The Pivot and Hirsch Vineyard Pinots were my favorites. I have one bottle of the 2012 Pivot coming but it won't be shipped until October. Did you get yours directly from the winery?

Yes. I joined the list a little while back. This was in my first shipment.

Just ordered a few bottles of the Littorai fall release (three bottles of the 2013 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and one library bottle of the 2012 Cerise Pinot Noir.) From the winery notes, the 2012 Pinots are exceptionally long agers and ones to cellar while drinking the 2010s (if I only had some 2010s--mine start with 2011 and 2012.)

I went with 2012 Haven and Cerise.
