"Excuse me, sir, but would you like to sniff the foil wrapper?"

It didn't take long for Mike Placentra to turn from helpful assistant graphics editor into a smart-aleck "sommelier." And he wasn't even the first to begin hurling wisecracks when I invited the Inquirer Features Department to a holiday tasting of box wines.

"What kind of cheese are you going to serve?" quipped another. "Velveeta?"
