This was our youngest daughter's anniversary dinner for us. Starters was a roasted beet and walnut dip with creme fraiche and dill, a perfect match for our Henri Abele' Brut Rose' Champagne. Soft and elegant with raspberries and hazelnuts. A great way to celebrate our anniversary.
The main course was olive oil poached sword fish steaks, with creamy polenta and an herbed oil salad. The wine here was the Faiveley '10 Mercurey which turned out to be one of the best pairing I've experienced. The wine was undoubtably Burgundy, but a lighter, more nuanced style, and the fish and polenta were both like a mushroom or a pillow. The Burgundy was just the right weight for this meal.
An anniversary that I will never forget
