2007 Weingut Josef Leitz Rüdesheimer Berg Roseneck Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Rheingau (1/11/2015)
What an expressive, open and complex wine this is. It is not showing much in developed character yet, but it is showing a full range of tree fruit, spice and warm herbs. It's ridiculously delicious in all its richness, with acidity that frames while not dominating. This wine is one, integrated piece, and has all the depth and balance to age for years as it gains further complexity.

In perusing the notes on CT I read a few comments about this being peaked or needing to be drunk up. Nothing is further from the truth. This is a monument to Rheingau Riesling, only just beginning the best part of its life.
