2012 Enfield Wine Co. Chardonnay Heron Lake Vineyard - USA, California, North Coast, Wild Horse Valley (1/15/2015)
Peach skin, lemon curd, a green and saline element that swirls in and out like seaweed in saltwater, make a fascinating, engaging and disturbingly drinkable wine. It has no makeup, no artifice. It's just purity of expression. Delicious.

"Seaweed in salt water". Sounds more like a Muscadet :D .

Agreed Bob, but the richness of the wine was a dead giveaway that it was not from the Loire. I suppose if there was a some really long aging on the lees with a Muscadet I might get tricked, but not in general.
