2012 Alfred Merkelbach Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese Urglück - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (2/4/2015)
Classic, old-school Mosel Riesling is the name of the game here, and a spätlese that is really a spätlese. The citrusy, spicy fruit is deflty balanced by present but not dominant acidity. Each sip is refreshing and inviting. I kept finding my glass empty for some strange reason. I will say that I think this is closing down, as it was not as effusive on opening as prior bottles I have consumed, but it's still drinking reasonably well. If you want some, drink soon. I think it's about to go into a shell for several years.
