Two glasses of this in an Italian restaurant in Dubai...

Good value Cabernet that shows dark fruit, and just enough of the herbal side to add complexity. There's oak, but it does not overwhelm the fruit, and overall the wine is well integrated, and pleasurable drinking as an accompaniment to what was a shockingly outstanding osso bucco.

My dining companions had Argentinian Pinot Grigio.

Yes. Second year in a row. We never celebrate "Buy a Hallmark Card for a Dead Saint" day anyway. She was away on business for my birthday for the 2nd year in a row as well, so you see we don't stand much on ceremony.

JC, the only thing Laura never misses is the annual rock climbing holiday!!
