Hi Jane, when you mentioned a PG from Alsace by Huet, did you mean to write Hugel? I thought Huet was from Loire but maybe he produces from both regions.

I've never heard of an Huet offshoot in Alsace and think it most unlikely. Hugel are friendly people and have a very sound range but I have never found a brilliant one. But I have two bottles of their '89 Gewurz SGN languishing in my cellar which may be something special. Like for most sweeties, the problem lies in finding a pairing and it aggravated by the strong aromatics.

I probably did mean Hugel. I have had a couple Hugel Pinot Gris in the past.
