WS: Gattinara Article...

by TomHill » Thu Mar 19, 2015 9:02 pm

There was a quite nice article in the latest WS featuring the wines of Gattinara, specifically Antionolo/Travgalini/Nervi, by Robert Camuto. It's stuff like this that keep me re-signing up for the WS. I have, of course, followed it from the very start.
It even prompted me to write a Letters-to-the-Editor:
TomHill wrote:Robert Camuto's recent article on Gattinara was a terrific read and shines light on an
area that's often overlooked in the Nebbiolo discussions.

One suggestion for articles like that: I've been a pretty savvy InterNet user for many years, every
since I first hooked up my punched card reader to the 'Net through its USB port. It might be nice to
place a small box at the end of the article giving some of the coordinates of those vineyards and
wineries so we could take a look at them with Google Maps and Google StreetView.

Doubt they will print it, though.

The 2003 Travgalini Gattinara was one of the best reds I have ever tasted in my life.

If I saw a copy of WS lying around, I would certainly flick through it both for the pictures and in the hope of finding an article like this or one from Matt Kramer :D .
