Meursault and Viognier Questions

I have a few bottles of the 2009 En Truffiere Meursault and would like to lay down a couple of bottles for 5 or more years. Costly only $28 but tasting medium bodied and seemingly well balanced, does anyone know enough about this wine to offer an opinion on ageability?

I also have a single bottle of 2012 Melville Viognier Verna's. At 15% abv I guess it is a brusier and was wondering what kind of food to serve with it? Any ideas out there?

On the White Burgundy question, I would be wary of premature oxidation. I was reading a report this weekend about 2007s, and bottles still having premox issues. So it looks as though the producers still have not figured it out. So I would head in another direction if I were you.

Is Truffiere the vineyard? What producer?
I know La Truffiere as a Puligny 1er, and Clos de la Truffiere as a Chassagne 1er.
As David said. PremOx remains an issue.

Yes, I believe that En Truffiere is the producer. In very small print on the bottom of the label is written "mis en bouteille par les champs-lins". Imported by Global Wine Logistics of Easton Pa. If Champs-Lins is the producer they are pretty understated about it. I have had 2 bottles of this wine and they were perfectly sound and quite nice. abv of 13% bought at The Party Source in Newport Ky.

While you may have had sound bottles so far, in about 2 years you will reach the typical onset age for premox.

Nothing much to gain from cellaring and might even spoil what good there is, IMHO.

With the Viognier you could try smoked salmon.

Yes, without having tasted this particular wine, in general negoce village wine would be not something where I think the potential upside would outweigh dangers of PremOx.

Well, Jim....about the Melville. It's what some folks refer to as a DollyParton Viognier.
In most cases, they don't evolve into anything very interesting. Best to drink them
young afore old-age catches up w/ them and they start to sag. Though not always. But true
of the older Melville's I've had.
