WTN: Tenshen SBC RW '13...(short/boring)

Spotted this new wine on the shelf and was attracted by the Tensley name:
1. Tenshen RW SantaBarbaraCnty (15.5%; http://www.TenshenWines.com; Syrah/Grenache/PS/Merlot) JoeyTensley & AlexGuarachi/SantaMaria 2013: Very dark color; rather Syrah/blackberry/boysenberry/plummy bit alcoholic/fumey/ripe rather toasty/oak quite primary nose; soft strong plummy/blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry/spicy rich/lush/ripe/sweet some alcoholic/hot stromg toasty/oak primary/overblown fruit flavors w/ light/soft/plush tannins; med.long very ripe/plummy/blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah strong toasty/oak rather hot/alcoholic/fumey overripe finish w/ some soft tannins; lacking structure; a rather boring/over-the-top red blend that speaks mostly of Syrah. Overpriced at $22.50 (KK)

A wee BP:
1. Not quite sure how these two hooked up. JoeyTensley is well-known for his SantaBarbara reds. GuarachiFamilyVnyds is based in the NapaVlly. Never tried any of their wines but they seemed to be just another overpriced NapaVlly Cab producer.
I had high hopes for this wine, especially at this reasonable price. Those hopes were crushed on the shoals of an over-blown red wine. This is exactly how PhillipeCambie would make a SBC wine for a high-falutin' NapaCab producer.
