PantherCreek PinotNoir BednarikVnyd/WillametteVlly (12.5%; 250 cs; U) 1994: Med.color w/ some bricking; somewhat earthy/loamy bit smokey/pencilly/oak light black cherry/PN quite complex oldPinot nose; fairly tart/tangy slight metallic strong smokey/pencilly/oak light earthy/rootcellar slight black cherry/PN/cherry complex oldPinot flavor w/ light smooth/graceful tannins; very long earthy/loamy strong smokey/pencilly/Fr.oak some black cherry/PN/black cherry cola fairly tart/tangy finish w/ light/smooth tannins; starting to fade some but still quite a pleasurable oldPinot. $36.00

PantherCreek PinotNoir SheaVnyd/WillametteVlly (12.5%; 130 cs; U) 1994: Rather brown/murkey color; quite earthy/loamy some pencilly/smokey nose w/ very little fruit; rather tart/metallic/tangy quite earthy/loamy little fruit slight oxidized flavoor w/ light/drying tannins; very little fruit, showing some oxidation and pretty much on its last legs. $36.00

PantherCreek PinotNoir FreedomHillVnyd/WillametteVlly (12.5%; 550 cs; U) 1994: Med.color w/ some bricking; less earthy/loamy more cherry/black cherry/PN fruit less complex nose; bit tart/tangy/metallic light earthy/loamy/rootcellar more bright cherry/PN fruit light smokey/oak flavor w/ light/smooth/bit bitey tannins and a trace of oxidation; very much like Bednarik. $36.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. The Bednarik and FreedomHill were very similar in character w/ more fruit in the FH but a little further along than the Bednarik and a bit simpler. Both were a pleasure to drink, though clearly starting to fade. The Shea was pretty much on it last legs and was left behind for Susan to drink inasmuch her standards for older wines are way below mine.
