2002 Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Rouge - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru (10/4/2015)Local ingredient beef stew calls for a really nice wine, and I opted for the 2002 Clos des Mouches. So glad I did, as this half bottle is singing. Berry, leather, each, forest floor and all the goodness that bottle age can bring to fine Burgundy. I wish there was a prettier word than kaleidoscopic, but that pretty much fist the bill. Wonderful Burgundy.

We did a Drouhin dinner, mostly Mouches, last year- '02 was my (and group) fave (though we liked almost all). I'm holding my 2 remaining bottles, would LOVE to have some 375s.
