Label fell off in the cool and humid cellar, but the content seems hardly evolved. Raspberry-black. Firm and fruity, tannic and fairly high-acid. Impressive terroir expression. Minor wet earth and minerality. Integrated, soft walnutty oak with a hint of tar. dp 93

And it shows: at this age, it shouldn't show any oak anymore, but it still does. Having said that, he was very successful in 1995 and 1996, always liked the wines, and the 1996s remain so youthful, there's still a chance they might absorb the (excess) oak.

I have some of his 98 Bonnes Mares, and the oak has integrated beautifully.
