WTN: Sang, Sang a Song

1966 Karthäuserhof Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberg Sang Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (12/18/2016)
Had this been served blind I would have guessed 1996, not 1966. Yellow fruit, lime zest accents, cassis and a creamy finish mark this as a shockingly fresh, lively and engaging Spatlese with only moderate sweetness and bright acidity.

Very nice. I googled for the backstory on 'Sang' and was intrigued to note that it is a vineyard and that Karthauserhof is now blended across vineyards. I guess there's no chance they'll go back to breaking out the cuvees across vineyards? (And recent results are plenty tasty to me, so no complaints. Although admittedly I don't think I've had any of the single-vineyard wines to compare)

I bet at some point we see separate wines again. Parcel bottlings are all the rage, so there's a commercial opportunity.

And I thought this would be a Dagueneau thread (or course seeing it was David I should have discounted SB idea)

Interesting re the single vineyards. Agree all the rage, but hope it doesn't (I'm having trouble keeping up with Selbach-O, let's keep Karthauserhof simple).
