There were 7 of us but 4 were basically non-wine drinkers. I started us off with a 2010 Veuve Doussot Cuvee "Ernestine" Brut. All thought it was very nice with lots of fresh baked bread toastyness and medium full pear fruit with abundant tiny bubbles. Lots of life ahead on this one. With dinner of ham and broccoli casserole I opened the 2006 Anderson's Conn Valley Res. Cabernet. . This wine was near peak with semi-smooth tannins, some cassis and a dusty/herbal element that complemented the food nicely. Very nice wine and could improve over the next 5 years or so.
