WTN: A Rozet by any other name

Remarkably interesting 13 year old blend of Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne. Pear and quince fruit overlay hazelnut and orange peel with a slightly oily richness that carries through to the finish. There's a mid-palate depth to the wine that makes it a compelling table wine, with the brightness of the Viognier then acting to clear the palate. It's a lovely surprise to see what this wine has become, although given the winemaker it's really not a surprise.

Awww, David....you just gotta learn to believe!!

I had this sometime in the last year w/ a similar reaction. Lots of oldRhone/toasted hazelnuts character.
