From my CellarTracker notes:
A.P.Nr.2 596 162 38 13 8.5% abv. Screwcap. Treppchen ("little stairs") Vineyard has an iron-rich red slate soil that "gives a muscular structure and a bracing mineral complexity to the wines."
The wine was a deeper straw color with green tinges. It was spritzig or slightly bubbly when poured.
Very bracing on the palate and pungent on the nose. This certainly has some petrol odor but not enough to cause me to spurn the wine. I also find hints of spring flowers and stone fruits. Hints of sweetness persist along with the strongly acidic presentation. The petrol aspect seemed more pronounced now than in a bottle opened in November. It could be bottle variation or a new phase in development. I really enjoyed this and it makes even more enjoyable to drink a Dr. Loosen wine after my conversation with him on Nantucket last May at the Nantucket Wine Festival.
