WTN: For Hune the Bell Tolls

1998 Trimbach Riesling Clos Ste. Hune
Fatally oxidized. From a case I shared with a few other folks. My other bottle, opened 10 years ago, was completely sound and delicious. 50/50 mirrors the general odds for this wine. Highly disappointing.

Half bottle or standard? I have never had an oxidised 750 ml.

Importer to blame. My two cents.

Sorely doubt it, as there have been multiple different importers, and also bottles procured from the winery (e.g. this one - case purchase from the domaine...in winter) with the issue. Same for a number of bottles of 1998 CFE. I have had decent to good luck with the CFE, but am not totally unscathed.

I've had good luck overall with CFE, but have had oxidized bottles of '96 and '99 Clos Ste Hune (the former was greymarket but imported in reefer- I got direct from importer). Really sad.
