Cracked this one last night:
1. OjaiVnyd PinotNoir BienNacidoVnyd/SBC (14.5%) 2003: Med.color w/ some browning; some PN/BN black cherry light earthy/dusty rather toasty/smokey/oak bit Burgundian/old timey fairly complex nose; lightly tart/metallic/tangy light BN black cherry/PN/earthy/dusty some smokey/toasty/oak bit Burgundian complex flavor w/ light smooth tannins; very long light BN black cherry/PN/slight floral/lilacs rather smokey/toasty/oak light tangy/metallic slight Burgundian/earthy/smokey finish w/ light gentle tannins; speaks of BN PN & a slight old-timey Burgundian character; the tangy/metallic character suggests it's on its downward decline but still offers plenty of good drinking.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I've always got a distinct black cherry character in the Pinots that come off BienNacido, particularly in Ojai/ABC/Steele Pinots. This one, though the fruit is starting to fade, still spoke of black cherry. It must be that "terroir" thing that all the geeks babble on about.
