WTN: Jaffurs Syrah SBC '03...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Mon May 08, 2017 12:17 pm

Tried this basic Jaffurs Syrah last night:
1. Jaffurs Syrah SBC (14.6%) 2003: Very dark color w/ slight bricking; very strong blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry bit peppery light toasty/pungent/smokey/Fr.oak bit licorice/pungent some complex nose; lightly tart rather pungent/toasty/oak strong blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry/ripe bit tangy light peppery/earthy bit complex flavor e/ light smooth bit tangy tannins; very long pungent/blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry/ripe some toasty/pungent/oak light earthy/peppery finish w/ light smooth tannins; a classic Jaffurs SBC Syrah that shows only a slight evolution & complexity.

1. My sense is that this is probably not going anywhere fast. It shows no signs of cracking up or anything...but will just continue to fade and not develop into anything profound. Just my hunch.
