Tahbilk Marsanne can be a frustrating wine, sometimes delightful and complex sometimes closed and dumb. And it is something of a roulette wheel as to what you'll get each time.
It does (or can, I suppose I should say) age really well, getting up into the savory side of fruit. I've had some top-notch winemaker acquaintances taste Tahbilk Marsannes, different ages, blind, and got the same response---you never quite knew which version you were going to get.
I love the stuff when aged; don't care for it that much when it is young. The reward, when it comes, makes the frustration worth it.
