2014 Cappellano Dolcetto d'Alba - Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba (5/29/2017)
Dolcetto is not a grape one looks to for transcendent experiences, but this Cappellano is about as close as there is. The balance of red fruit, spice and the grape's tannic backbone is pitch perfect. Find some and enjoy!

Usually the funny bit is in your subject line, but I see this time you saved it for the last sentence: "find some!"

I know, I know. I have gotten lucky to get a tiny pipeline. I just have to make sure I keep it flowing!

I managed to buy a little last year. We'll see whether that turns out to be a pipeline or a fluke.

I see that it is upwards of $30. Is it worth it?

As it happens, today I was able to secure 33% of a local shop's entire allocation of 2013 Cappellano Neb[b]iolo d'Alba. Which is to say, one bottle.

Good deal!

I ate at the exact same restaurant in Torino 3 times because they had that wine on the list.

Perhaps, but the food was also very good.
