WTN: 2001 Sociando-Mallet

by David M. Bueker » Sun Jun 04, 2017 6:37 pm

2001 Château Sociando-Mallet - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc (6/4/2017)
I am a fan of classically styled Bordeaux, and the 2001 Sociando-Mallet is exactly that. Medium bodied, it has cassis and cherry fruit, accented with green tobacco and just a touch of the Socaindo green pepper, along with solid acidic framework and balanced tannin. The cherry fruit blossoms on the finish, and hangs on for a long time. Delicious wine that is what I want from Bordeaux. It won't win any pageants, but it will make a lovely dinner companion.
