A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Visciola: This is a genre of dessert wine made in the LaMarche.
Visciola
It is made from the local viscole cherries and LaCrima de Morra d'Alba grapes, using a number of different processes.
Some friends had us over dinner last night and I took a Cherry Clafoutis for dessert. There is a Palisades/CO former who pedals his fruit in the Jackalope parking lot in SantaFe. His peaches and cherries are incredible...some of the best cherries I've tasted.
This is a genre of wine they should be making in Calif. The SuisunVlly would be the ideal place, using the plentiful supply of local cherries and PetiteSirah grapes. I've lobbied MattRorick to make this wine...but sometimes a Forlorn-Hope is verifiably a "forlorn hope".
