1988 Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (7/8/2017)
Totally mature, and very nearly bone dry, the Scharzhofberger Kabinett shows it's inherent class and elegance. Dried peach and lime zest, forest floor and browned pie crust flavors persist, even though the wine has been open for nearly 24 hours. The aromas persist in the glass after the wine is gone. Not much more to ask of a Kabinett approaching 30 years of age.

Wow. Nice. The browned pie crust is taking things in an interesting (and dangerous) direction, but the peachy fruit and the perky lime zest sound like they helped balanced things out.

Nice.

It wasn't a dominant note. Not even really sure it was the right descriptor, but it was all I could put my finger on at the time. It was a very complex wine.
