The Wine Gourd blog

Is this new info, or am I just very late discovering this fascinating English-language wine blog by a guy named David Morrison in Uppsala, Sweden? I'm definitely subscribed now.

So, it's not an old-time blog. But ... 62 weekly posts, and they seem to be solid. I guess the fact that he's an Anglophone in Sweden may have limited his reach. ;) Still, I'm following him now, and thought I'd share.

God, if anything's going to make me rush out and spend five hundred bucks on some pointy Napa cult Cab, it's being told not to by a guy wielding exponential regressions and the slogan "whatever can be expressed in numbers may be represented by lines." But I'm a grumpy interpretive social "scientist," so what do I know? :D

In fairness, he did recently do a deep data dive into Yellowtail sales. :D

Oh, his illustration of the power law curve has... a yellow tail! I'll give him 98 points for the cross-field inside joke.
cheers, Patchen

Napa Cab is overpriced because it does not fit the models?

Napa Cab is fairly priced because there are plenty of people who buy the finished wines.

Agree. I'm pretty picky about who I follow, but I have been with this since Sept 2016 now.

Let me give you a long list of other things you should never never do... :D
