WTN: Murgo EtnaBianco '16...(short/boring)

Tried this weekend:
1. Murgo EtnaBianco (70% Carricante/30% Catarratto; 12.5%; www.Murgo.It; NorthBerkeleyImports) Emannele Scammacca del Murgo/SantaVenerina 2016: Light gold color w/ tiny bubbles on bottom of glass; rather fragrant pineapple/new leather upholstery light stony interesting nose; soft slight spritz/CO2-refreshed light pineapply/stony rather shallow/vapid/watery ersatz-acidity flavor; slight ersatz/spritzy/CO2-refreshed quite short light pineapple/dried mango/stony bit earthy somewhat watery finish; interesting nose if you have a shoe fetish but pretty vapid/shallow on the palate; no bargain at $18.00 (KK)

1. Baron Emannele was an Italian ambassador to a number of posts, including Moscow. He is rumored to have sat in on the meeting w/ DonaldTrumpJr.

2. CO2-refreshed: I hate these whites that are refreshed w/ CO2 on bottling or bottled w/ CO2 left over from fermentation. The idea of the CO2 is to give them a sense of acidity. But it's an ersatz acidity in that it does not persist on the palate and vanishes immediately when it hits your mouth. Leaving behind, often, what is a watery/flavorless wine. I'm not fooled that easily.
It's easy to detect a wine so treated. Often it's in a screw top that pops upon opening. And there will often be tiny bubbles adhering to the bottom of the glass when just poured. One swirl & they disappear.
