WTN: Corsican rosé

Yves Leccia 2015 IGP Île de Beauté (Corsica) Rosé. 100% Nielluciù (Sangiovese). Extremely pale orange-pink, with a flavor that seems to fit with the color: this is dry and bracing, with light tart-cherry fruit and an herbaceous finish. Crisp and relatively light mouthfeel, lacking the weight of, say, a Pibarnon Bandol Rosé; but that's not a problem, just a different style, and one that worked perfectly as a pairing for the season's first heirloom tomato and basil salad, this one with a little charcuterie, fresh ricottta, and baguette alongside. At $23, not a bargain, but not a disappointment either.

Dry bracing and herbaceous, those are certainly the fine descriptors.

I don't drink much rosé, but as it happens I was out to dinner last night and had glasses of the Ameztoi rose (so lively fresh, dry, bracing and herbaceous, lovely lovely) followed by the Pégau rosé (out of morbid curiosity) which was crazy, darker and thicker than many of my favorite red wines!

I keep hearing about that Ameztoi, I'll have to try to get some of the 2016.

Pegau makes a rosé? (Well, whatever, Sine Qua Non made a $1900 rosé [okay, not the release price] so what do I know?) Sounds... hedonistic.
