WTN: Where Alaska meets Mexiko

2007 Heger Achkarrer Schlossberg Riesling GG (dry)
Pristine bottle, recently bought at the winery.
Sniffing this makes you believe to stand close to a cold waterfall in Alaska. Salty scent mixed with notes of Mexican limes (the ones I particularly love), star fruit, melon and peach. Delicate florality on top of it.
On the palate there are exciting contrasts between complex minerality, vibrant acidity, decent peach fruit and some ginger. It finishes on notes of white flowers and sea salt - awesome!
Now in great shape for enjoyment. Thanks to its low alcohol content (12.4%), it is also a great pleasure in summer. Well stored bottles should keep up well for another 5 years. - Cheers, Rainer

Wow, that sounds wonderful. I purchased some dry GG reislings last summer and have yet to sample one. Donnhoffs--I hope they'll be as good as yours.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Hi Jenise. Well done with the Dönnhoffs. Chances are high that they will excite you. Here is a link to great tasting notes (in German) on 2015 Riesling from the Nahe region > https://www.yvesbeck.wine/vdp-gg-2016-nahe-riesling/
