2015 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Riesling Kabinett #3 - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (9/9/2017)
No shock to find out that this is a delicious kabinett from Schaefer. Apple, lemon and a bit of riper fruit is complimented by bright acidity. It starts out with more than a hint of sweetness, but the acids balance it out in the mid-palate, so that the wine finishes nearly dry. This has not shut down yet, though I expect it will, as lots of 2015s have already started down that path. Have one soon, as it's great fun.

Technically one could say that they start down that path as soon as they are bottled!

But yes, the pleasure of 2015 is probably decreasing faster and faster these days.

Had a 2015 Merkelbach UW Urgluck Auslese this weekend and could still enjoy the combination of ripeness and dazzling acidic mineral structure. But the fruit flavors are getting quieter and quieter. The window is on its way down.

This sounds great, I think I have a case that I haven't broached yet (I definitely have GD Kab, but AP not noted, though I think usually only one). Will go dig out to check # (and give a try while its fun)
