A very glowing by by our IsaacBaker in today's Terroirist blog:
ItalianWineGrapes
on a new book on Italian wine grapes.
I'm in when the paperback comes out in Dec.

I was recently in a large bookstore, looking at the rack of wine books and it was sad to see the lame selection. The number of books on craft beer and cocktails seemed to be growing relative to those on wine. So this will be a welcome addition; I too will await the paperback version.

As a lover of obscure grape varieties, you might want to have a look at this site:

Focus is on Iberian grapes.

Thanks, Joe, for that link. Man...I haven't even started looking at the Iberian Peninsula for obscure stuff.

True dat....the selection of interesting wine books seems to be shrinking.
I'm not sure the difference between this new book an Ian d'Agata's book on Italian varieties,
the book that has sorta become my bible.
