WTN: MarimarEstate Albarino '15...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Sun Sep 17, 2017 10:50 am

Had w/ my corn-on-the-cob last night:
1. MarimarEstate Albarino DonMiguelVnyd/GreenVlly/RRV (EG&B; Organically grown; www.MarimarEstate.com) MarimarTorres/Sebastapol 2015: Light gold color; very fragrant/perfumey flowery/peach blossom/pear/spicy some stony/mineral bit steely/metallic slight smokey/oak(?) very classic Albarino nose; lightly tart rather rich/lush strong pear/floral/peach blossom/spicy light stony/mineral/chalky lovely flavor; very long lightly tart/tangy/metallic rich/lush/floral/ripe pear/peach blossom slight smokey/earthy bit mineral/chalky finish; a lovely classic expression of Albarino from Calif; not the lean/austere/saline character of that from Galicia; quite a lovely Albarino. $32.00 (SFW&S)

1. I'm finding a lot of Albarinos from Calif that I like. The Abrente and the Drews are particularly good. Even some good ones from Lodi.
