2013 Tobin James Cabernet Franc James Gang Reserve Paso Robles
Not at all a fan of Paso wines and particularly not a fan of Tobin James' bombastic style, so with some surprise I enjoyed this wine brought to dinner by a friend. It was big but had freshness, decent varietal character and most of all didn't clobber with syruppy extract and high alcohol.
